The content is so simple
The content is very simple and I think that it is the biggest plus-point of this book. Big Data is going pretty "Big" or rather "Huge" and I truly believe that this book should be considered among the top “Big Data†books. I have read it and am referring it to my students (whenever needed). A lot of people ignore the basics and concepts of Big Data. They simply start implementing. This is a big mistake because when the data goes real Big, these concepts shall only come to your rescue and give you a solution. So clear the concepts by reading this book. I congratulate the authors for such a Good Job!
I am a beginner programmer and honestly, was a bit scared to touch this book. But I must confess that my belief was wrong. The book is good for anyone who is interested in learning Big Data Modeling. Creating models need some creativity, and this book taught me how to do that in the best possible way. It wasn't that easy though, I need more experience and practice. I purchased the Kindle version and am not regretting, its a good decision to save paper and get a hold of a good book. Oh yes, a big thank you to the author team.
I was interested in learning weather data modeling as I work for a company that forecasts weather. The book has helped me learn how to assimilate weather data using weather data models. I have learned/practiced QJIS and it helped me a lot. So I suggest that go through QJIS or learn it (if you don't know) before starting this book. Overall, a good book! Add On: Simplified basic to expert level explanation. So if your English is normal, you might not need a dictionary:).
