The author explains everything to you.I love his advice.I love the way he communicates his ideas.Its something we all need to do to see where we went wrong and how to get it right and why. Another great book by Dr. Neil Clark Warren. Book arrived in a timely fashion and in great condition.This book is sort of a continuation to his original book Finding The Love of Your Life. In this edition he describes the attributes of good character and defines possible red-flags in relationships. Again the addresses core personal dimensions such as: intellect, energy levels, spirituality, education, appearance, sense of humor, mood management, traditional vs non-traditional personalities, ambition, sexual passion, artistic passion, values, industry, curiosity, vitality/security, and autonomy vs. closeness. All of these dimensions play a role in the dynamics of the relationships. The more you are aligned, the more likely the relationship is to have a long lasting future.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is ready to be in a serious relationship.
I got interested in this book after a friend told me about the questionnaire people have to do in order to be set up for the eHarmony matching service. The book is written by a marriage therapy psychologist who is also a co-founder of the company. In contrast to most online dating services, eHarmony's mission revolves around finding each member's soulmate (although the term is pretty loosely defined). According to the author, there are 29 (gulp!) different dimensions of compatibility, of which you and your partner should ideally have at least 25-26 in common in order to be a good match for a successful long-term marriage. Oh, and that doesn't include chemistry, without which you and your match are likely just destined to be best friends with lots of shared interests.Although it was interesting to learn about the history and philosophy of eHarmony as a company, overall, the book is not very well written. Its infomercial style and tone get annoying after a while, and the book doesn't seem like it would be especially useful to someone who is not planning to join eHarmony. However, it is a quick, easy read, especially if you skip the unnecessary, self-contradictory, and repetitive Chapter 2. I would only recommend this book to people who are considering using the eHarmony service and want to gain a better understanding of how the company's matching process works.
I would consider this a follow-up or sequel to Dr. Warren's book Date or Soul Mate?While Date or Soul Mate? could be a basic introduction to eHarmony, Falling in Love for All the Right Reasons takes us into more details regarding eHarmony's 29 Dimensions of Compatibility.Again, eHarmony is about compatibility -- the more compatible you are with your intended, the happier you will be, the greater chance of success you will have in your relationship.Chapter 1 is a history of how eHarmony began.Chapter 2 is an introduction to the remainder of the book.There is a chapter devoted to each of the 29 Dimensions of Compatibility.There is a chapter on Chemistry, and another chapter on Commitment.If you have wondered about eHarmony's 29 Dimensions of Compatibility, this is the book form (as opposed to joining eHarmony) which will explain those Dimensions.From what I understand from the final "chapter" "How eHarmony Works," we should be able to join eHarmony in order to take advantage of its personality profile without having to pay for a membership. If I understand correctly, paid membership begins when you want to start meeting your soul mate.Perhaps the most difficult part of this book is taking an honest look at yourself and where you currently are as opposed to whatever fantasy life you think you might prefer. I have a lot of work to do on myself before I can honestly be ready for someone new. Well, if I want the relationship to work, that is.
